Each year the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association runs the J.G. Craig Competition for Under 15 cricket players
It is recognised as the premier Under 15 cricket competition in Victoria and is conducted in January each year.
Games are played on the professionally prepared turf wickets of the 28 Sub-District Cricket Clubs and to be eligible to play in the 2018 competition, players must be under 15 years of age as at the 1st September, 2017.
Sessions will be held in October/ November 2017 along with at least one practice match against another Craig Shield team.
Sessions will be held on Sunday mornings which will run for about 90 minutes each week across four weeks. Further details will be released closer to the date.
The Carnival runs across two weeks in early January with all teams playing six one-day (45 overs per side) matches.
The 28 teams are split into four groups of seven teams (North, South, East and West) with every team playing against each other team in their respective group.
The top two teams from each of the four groups then progress to knockout quarter final, semi final and grand final matches.
